Gr 6 Up-Daniel X, an extraterrestrial living on Earth, is up against the most dangerous and malicious aliens yet in the fourth title (Little, Brown, 2011) in James Patterson's series. His alien hunter skills are tested as he goes to Tokyo to track down numbers six and seven on the Alien Outlaw list. These criminals are manipulating the minds of children around the world by controlling the video games they play, and they must be stopped. Daniel is unaware that the aliens are tracking him as well. Danger, adventure, and action are pumped into this fast-paced novel. Milo Ventimiglia's narration gives Daniel the edge he needs to fight off these thugs, and he gives the other characters distinct voices. The various Japanese words that pop up throughout the book are pronounced perfectly. The rapid, tense pace will appeal to teens. Another great title in the action-packed series.-Trish Grady, Franklin Comm. Middle School. IN

Alien hunter Daniel X learns that two of the most dangerous aliens on the planet are plotting to use video games to brainwash players. He must recruit the aliens' rebellious son as an ally before it's "game over" for humans. Short chapters (for short attention spans) keep the pace of the story (with its preposterous premise) brisk.
