K-Gr 2-These titles group 20 familiar rhymes together by theme. "Counting" includes "One, Two, Buckle My Shoe," "Sing a Song of Sixpence," "Gregory Griggs," and "Baa, Baa, Black Sheep." "Forecasting" highlights "Itsy Bitsy Spider," "One Misty, Moisty Morning," "It's Raining, It's Pouring," and "The Robin." "Faces" features the likes of "Little Miss Muffet," "Jack and Jill," "Humpty Dumpty," and "Old King Cole." All three books cite "The Random House Book of Mother Goose" (1986) as their source of editorial and formatting decisions. The books sport colorful, textured artwork; "Counting" was done in acrylics and "Faces" and "Forecasting" were created digitally. A warm color palette gives a jaunty tone to the illustrations. However, a few of Luiz's faces are far from amiable and may even border on grotesque. With the abundance of nursery rhyme books available each year, these titles are strictly supplemental purchases."Blair Christolon, Prince William Public Library System, Manassas, VA"
