Wynn debuts with a fun, sexy workplace rom-com. After winning an important legal case, attorney Perdie Stone winds up stranded at the airport with her handsome rival, Carter Leplan. With tensions still high from their battle in court, they enjoy a one-night stand at a nearby hotel. Days later, the owners of Perdie’s firm call her into their office to announce that they’ve decided to take on a new partner. Perdie’s convinced the position will be hers—until Carter walks into the room. Perdie’s furious, but Carter soon proves to be her ally in a workplace rife with sexual harassment and misogyny. As the pair navigate their professional and personal relationships, Perdie also tries to help her best friend, Lucille, resolve her own romantic quandary. There’s perhaps a disproportionate focus on Perdie and Carter’s intense sexual chemistry, which comes at the expense of delving more deeply into Perdie’s history of insecurities and giving Carter a flaw or two to flesh out his white knight façade. Still, the sex scenes are steamy and the comedic elements are often laugh-out-loud funny. Wynn is sure to win some fans.
