Suffolk Park QUILT & CUSHION • Take a stroll through Tita Leach’s enchanting garden of delights – a festival of joyous colour and pattern. To her Suffolk-puff field of flowers she’s added the whimsy and playfulness of butterflies and bees. This project is not just a visual treat but also a tactile delight: each puff, carefully crafted and sewn, adds a unique texture that invites you and baby to touch and feel, making it not just functional but also a piece of art.
Better Together THE STORY BEHIND OUR BEYOND BLUE CHARITY QUILT • As Homespun’s 25th anniversary approached, our team reflected on the magazine’s rich history. What stood out most was the deep meaning of craft in people’s lives.
THE SPRINGTIME SUN STITCHERY • After the cold embrace of winter, the garden awakens with the freshest and most vibrant buds, each one a promise of the warmth and beauty to come. Leanne Beasley captures the essence of spring and the joy it brings to the garden in this delightful stitchery project. The design's simplicity, which is crafted with just five straightforward stitches, ensures that you'll have it adorning your wall well before September arrives.
Winding Our Way PATCHWORK QUILT • Clare Mooney was intrigued by the graphic impact of the traditional Winding Ways patchwork block. She hand pieced her quilt in elegant blue and white, using a wide assortment of reproduction fabrics, as well a variety of cream and white prints to add subtle interest. It’s easy to make it in any size you like — but it’s certainly no weekend project: Clare’s quilt is made from 2280 patches!
MEG'S GARDEN QUILT • Kellie Wulfsohn of Don’t Look Now created a stunning piece with her sensational appliquéd flowers, butterflies and ladybugs. You'll be thrilled to learn that it's not a difficult project. Kellie employed a free-machine raw-edge appliqué technique and two thicknesses of batting to create her quilt, but if you’d prefer to stitch by hand, that will work just as well. No matter the method, your finished quilt will be a tour de force.
POCKETS THE ELEPHANT • How cute is this little chap? Designed by creative whiz Simone Gooding, he is destined to become a little one's bestest friend. Make him with high quality wool felt to ensure lots of fun and cuddles for many years ahead.
SUMMER CRUSH RUG • Sarah London, author of the highly praised book Granny Square Love, is renowned throughout the crafting world for her vivid colour palette and enchanting designs. Her gorgeous baby blanket, made in shades of strawberry, lemon and orange, is a delightful burst of colour and texture. The popcorn-stitch motifs create a unique surface that is soft to the touch, providing comfort and warmth for baby. The finished product is not just a blanket, but a labour of...
