Christmas IN NORTHEAST BRAZIL?!

GREEN LIGHT, GO! • When the green light was announced for the Cold Hawaii Big Air competition in Denmark, riders had to mobilize quickly. For Nathalie Lambrecht and Francesca Maini that meant a hectic mission flying in from Brazil to make it in time. But their effort was rewarded with the top two places on the podium, in the first ever women’s division at the event.

STILL FROTHING • Gabi Steindl lives in Western Australia and most years missions into the coastal Outback there for an extended period. This year the wind hasn’t come through as much as other years which has given Gabi time to mull over her long career as a kitesurfer, the risks she took, and the sacrifices, fears and rewards that came with building an unconventional life. At 50 she’s finding that the fire still burns just as brightly today.

THE CREATORS. Ewan Jaspan • This certainly isn’t the first time Ewan Jaspan has appeared in our mag, but now he’s firmly entrenched as Head Kite Designer at Naish and has been beavering away on the latest iteration of the Psycho NVision, as well as being kept busy as a new dad, we thought we’d throw him some questions to find out about his new babies…

PHOEBE ROCHER • Phoebe Rocher has spent her formative years living aboard a sailboat with her family, meaning easy access to the best kite spots around New Caledonia, where they currently call home. All that time on the water helped propel her to Junior World Champion in 2024 and a 7th place finish on the senior tour in 2025. Sidelined by an injury earlier this year, she is now back in action in time for the upcoming GKA competition in Brazil. Seemed like a good time to get her on the line and find out more about the rising star.

NO(R)WAY! • Norway’s stunning Lofoten Islands were set to be the location for ION’s Fall/Winter photoshoot, with Noè Font, Edgar Ulrich and Camille Losserand, plus foiling team rider Mô Chauvin and ION Marketing Manager David Mariot, jetting in for eight days. It sounded simple on paper, but the weather gods – and baggage handlers – had other ideas…

Perfect Lefts • After more than ten years of dreaming about Peru’s endless lefts, Julia Castro finally made the pilgrimage, and discovered much more than just perfect waves. Despite the dusty roads, delayed baggage, and a fin to the head, she found a much-needed reset and a local community that made a country on the other side of the world feel like home.

AIRUSH KITEBOARDING • Airush Kiteboarding’s 26-27 collection will be hitting the shelves around the same time as this issue drops. To find out more about their latest releases we caught up with Alex Pastor, former World Champion and current Airush CEO and product developer.
